Human Services
Our comprehensive, community based outpatient program is proudly accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) since 1992. This accreditation represents our cost-effective, client-driven and high professional standards. At ACC, we’re committed to the prevention and treatment of psychological and social problems in the Arab-American, Chaldean and mainstream communities. Upon being re-accredited in 2019, our renewed sense of purpose is to improve the quality of life for those who seek our support. Individuals are empowered to tap into their inner potential to become valuable and productive citizens.

The Infant Mental Health Program is a home based service that provides therapy and support to infants and parents with ongoing mental health and developmental concerns, such as low birth weight and basic failure to thrive. ACC staff conduct weekly in-home visits to provide guidance and support as well as connect families in need to matched community resources. The Infant Mental Health program promotes positive infant-parent interactions, attachment, development, and parental competencies. Our team of professionals work to establish a trusting relationship, nurturing the parent so she may in turn nurture her child.
Each therapist has access to community resources related to basic needs, child care and parent health, safety, and crises resolution. Infant-centered problem solving and decision making skills are a core focus within the context of the parent-infant relationship.
Planning ahead for children is a core philosophy here at ACC. Wraparound is a process designed to create plans of care for youth with emotional or behavioral disabilities through the strength and support of family systems, local doctors and schools. We partner with CPS, special education providers, mental health services, substance abuse programs, and juvenile justice advocates to further this mission.
