ACC Selected for Free Press 2006 Summer Dreams Campaign

Detroit, MI - May 15, 2006 ACC has been selected for inclusion in the 2006 Summer Dreams Campaign featured in the Detroit Free Press. Summer Dreams, a program that combines donations from readers and matching funds from the Skillman Foundation to send thousands of deserving children to summer camp, kicked off April 27th.

Funds donated will support ACC's Youth Summer Basketball Leadership & Mentoring Day Camp, which is scheduled for June 19th – July 28th. The camp schedule is Monday- Friday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM. Youth ages 17 and under will participate in a six (6) week basketball day camp in which youth will learn basketball techniques and strategies, life skills, including teamwork, team building, conflict resolution, anger management, communication skills and self-esteem enhancement.

You can donate online by electronic payment at www.freep.com/summerdreams. Or make checks or money orders payable to: Children First, P.O. Box 64702, Detroit, MI 48264. Contributions must be made online or by check written directly from the donor to Children First. Checks written on an agency bank account will not be matched. The maximum individual contribution eligible for match is $1,500. On the memo line of your check specify ACC as the donation recipient.
