ACC PROJECT CHOSEN FOR
GASTROENTEROLOGY CONFERENCE
Detroit,
MI - March 7, 2007 ACC Public Health Division,
Hepatitis C Virus Project abstract, The Prevalence of Hepatitis C among
Arab & Chaldean Americans in Southeast Michigan has been selected
for poster presentation during Digestive Disease Week, at the Washington
Convention Center in Washington, DC, from May 19-24, 2007. This event is
considered the largest and most prestigious gastroenterology conference in
the world, with usual attendance in excess of 10,000 physicians, and health
care professionals.
Additionally the abstract will be published in the April, 2007 supplement
to Gastroenterology, GI's leading peer-reviewed journal committed to
publishing clinical and basic studies of all aspects of the digestive
system, including the liver and pancreas, as well as nutrition.
This type of pragmatic and relevant research not only helps pave the way
for direct services but also provides health care providers and funding
sources opportunities for further investigations and ongoing interventions
with proven outcome.
The Public Health Division, HCV Project was developed and implemented by:

Evone Barkho, Outreach and Intervener Specialist, and Dr. Laith Jamil, Medical Director and Co- Researcher.
