Wayne County Back to School Program at
ACC
Detroit, MI - September
10, 2007 Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano
will visit the Arab American and Chaldean Council's (ACC) Youth Recreation
and Leadership
Center, 62 W. Seven Mile Road,
at 3 p.m. Sept. 12.
Coinciding
with the start of the 2007-08 school year, the county executive is set to
distribute about 100 school bags filled with school supplies for the Metro
Detroit area's underprivileged children, four to seven years old, as part
of the Wayne County Back-to-School Program. Dan Rorrer
of World Vision, one of the program sponsors, will also be present. World
Vision is an international children's charity that has donated book bags
countywide.
"Not
only does this program provide essential tools for education, but it helps
elevate self-esteem for those children in need," the county executive
said.
