ACC announces the Hamtramck WIC office grand opening May 15
Detroit,
MI - May 10, 2007 To better serve the community the
Arab American & Chaldean Council is pleased to announce their third WIC
office, located in Hamtramck at 8740 Joseph Campau. Nutritionist Hana Tomah
will be seeing clients Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
by appointments.
With
a growing Middle Eastern population in Hamtramck, ACC is committed to providing
services to improve the quality of life in the community. The ACC WIC
offices have bilingual staff to enhance service with their Middle Eastern
clients.

Since
its inception in 1974, WIC provides nutrition education, coupons for
nutritious foods, breastfeeding support, free lead testing, and referrals
to other health services. For program eligibility, families must be low
income, which is determined at the enrollment appointment. WIC enrolls
pregnant or postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five.
The
ACC/WIC Program is funded by the USDA and administered by the Michigan
Department of Community Health WIC Program and Wayne County Department of
